The Chico Unified board on Sept. 18 approved public disclosure documents and memoranda tied to one‑time 2% off‑schedule payments for district employees, as required by Assembly Bill 2756.
Jacqueline Krueger and other staff presented the fiscal impacts: the CSEA Chapter 110 payment will cost just over $485,000; the Chico Unified Teachers Association payment is roughly $1.6 million; and payments for management and restricted classification employees total about $358,000. Staff said the district has healthy reserves and emphasized the payments are a way to recognize employees without altering base contract steps in the current fiscal year.
Board members thanked union leadership and staff for cooperation; votes on the disclosure documents and the related memoranda of understanding were unanimous. Presenters said the one‑time payments are expected to be paid in October and are subject to the district's fiscal oversight and annual audit.
