Coach Chris Jans and Hubbard addressed the Senate; speakers highlighted on-court records—including program career three-point records and a 46-point SEC game—Hubbard’s community service (hosting camps, awarding more than $50,000 in scholarships, and partnering with Make-A-Wish Mississippi) and his commitment to visiting children at the state children’s hospital.
Both resolutions were greeted with applause and formal presentations to guests in the galleries. These recognitions are ceremonial and do not create policy changes but reflect the chamber’s custom of marking public service and achievement.
