City staff member Brian explained the city solicited qualifications and received proposals from multiple firms; after staff scoring, Bolton & Mink was recommended for a $55,000 design contract. Brian estimated the construction cost at about $400,000, said the work will include mill and fill operations plus ADA ramps at intersections, and noted the project will stop short of a large tree/corner to allow later concrete tie‑in with a separate timing (TA) project.
Council discussed whether to extend the project farther north to De Moines or Palin streets and staff said the current scope is to stop at an existing tie‑in point and to revise contract documents before signature to reflect the final limits. The council moved, seconded and approved the agreement by voice vote.
