"The district drivers and attendants are professionals that carefully transport our most precious cargo every day," Musto told the board, urging adoption. The agreement was ratified by the union membership and approved by the board without opposition.
Separately, the administration requested a budget transfer to cover moving and transition costs tied to the district’s right‑sizing plans (packing, temporary logistics, overtime and related expenses). Board members asked for additional detail and full‑board consideration: after questions about timing, anticipated costs and whether special‑education facilities would require construction, the board voted 5–1 to postpone the transfer to the next regular meeting so administration can provide a detailed line‑item estimate.
What happens next: Human Resources and Transportation will implement the Teamsters agreement according to negotiated timelines. Finance and Operations will prepare a detailed cost estimate for school moves and return with that information at the next board meeting for a full vote.
