Rome Board of Estimate and Contracts approves resurfacing bid advertisement, several agreements and a $94,000 change order

The Board of Estimate and Contracts of the City of Rome on April 9 approved five resolutions including advertising for bids on a 2026 cold milling and resurfacing project, authorizing an MOU on intimate-partner-violence reduction, two vendor agreements and a $94,000 contract change order.
The meeting, called to order by the mayor at 3:09 p.m., opened with roll call and the board dispensed with approval of the minutes. All five resolutions that followed were moved, seconded and carried by voice vote.
Commissioner Mary Landrieu spoke in detail about Resolution 76, which authorizes change order number one to the city's contract with Green and Peterson Inc. She told the board that "this number, the 94,000 was reduced down from an estimated 150,000 which was first supplied to the city when first submitted to the city" and said the extension reflected both product delays and an early winter that required contractors to extend work and engineering oversight. "We are working with our engineering department, our city engineering department and GPI to finish the inspection for this project with this 94,000," she said.
