Board adopts 2026–27 academic calendar after community vote

Tanya Amarine of Human Resources presented two calendar versions for the 2026–27 school year. Amarine said the district received 910 votes (a higher turnout than in recent years); Version 1 received 619 votes versus 294 for Version 2, and Amarine noted the community and staff overwhelmingly supported Version 1. She also explained the calendar meets the state minimum of 1,140 instructional hours (elementary 1,154 hours; middle/secondary 1,150.3 hours) and that a remote day is planned for April 7 to accommodate SAT administration while meeting PED instructions for synchronous instructional time.
Board member motioned and seconded adoption of Version 1. The board approved the calendar on a roll call vote (yes votes recorded in the transcript), and the district will finalize logistics for the remote day and plans to support student access to connectivity on that date.
