Monroe County Commissioners hear Purdue Extension 4-H update and early-voting dashboard

At the Monroe County Commissioners meeting on April 9, County Extension Director Audi Aquan provided a quarterly update on local Purdue Extension activity and the county's 4-H program. Aquan said the county is on track to enroll more than 400 youth in its 4-H program and described local engagement across clubs, leadership development, livestock education and camps. She noted local participants who have represented the county at state and national events.
The commissioners also heard from Monroe County GIS coordinator John Beaton, who demonstrated an early-voting dashboard hosted on the county website and reported 339 votes cast over two days and 89,755 registered voters as of April 7. Commissioner Julie Thomas emphasized early-voting access at the North Showers building, detailed hours (8 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday–Friday, plus two Saturdays and an early-voting end date), and reminded residents that election day is May 5.
What happens next: The commissioners will reconvene on April 23; the county's early-voting schedule remains in effect through the dates discussed.
