Management scheduled a management occupancy review (MOR) for the north building the following morning and said an Inspire inspection of both buildings is set for Wednesday, April 15.
Commissioners and staff described practical issues discovered during work, including removal of a large bee’s nest found under a balcony, and noted ongoing resident services such as distribution of a New England Affordable Housing Management Association scholarship (up to $3,500 and now available for trade students as well as college students) and a recurring community kids mission program.
Staff said four families had responded to the community event notices and reiterated that parents must remain with children during those activities. Management also reported upcoming routine maintenance: extermination work scheduled later in the week and continuing recertifications and lease renewals.
On relocation logistics, staff said some residents were temporarily placed at Riverwood while work proceeded at Canaan Parish. Commissioners agreed to pay replacement rents calculated at Canaan Parish rates under a "good neighbor" approach and to make up the difference to Riverwood; staff said outstanding payments (checks) would be issued. The board discussed wait‑list candidates for vacant units, noting several units remain available and that Section 8 income requirements complicate immediate placements.
Commissioners said they had sought and received Board of Selectmen support for capital requests, including pavement repaving and new security systems; those items will next go to the Board of Finance and Town Council for further review and possible funding.
The board asked staff to press the contractor for a confirmed schedule before widely advertising move‑back dates. Commissioners emphasized speed but cautioned that they would not rush occupancy until finishing, safety, and inspections were complete.
