The Southfield Zoning Board of Appeals approved a waiver June 17 to permit an additional wall sign for a tenant at 24481 10 Mile Road (Riverwood Research Center).
Kevin Kurthers of Fast Signs requested one additional wall sign for an Adapt Health tenant (Airway Oxygen), explaining that the multi-tenant development has multiple addresses and that the tenant would be difficult to locate from the thoroughfare. Staff described the building frontage (about 160 linear feet along 10 Mile Road) and the proposed sign area (approximately 26.25 square feet) and recommended approval, provided the appellant secures all required building permits and inspections.
No public comments were offered at the hearing. The board found the request met the criteria for practical difficulty and would not substantially impair the chapter’s intent or traffic safety; the motion to grant the waiver passed by voice vote. The board asked the applicant to work with the building department on permits.
