On E Media’s Mayor Monthly, Derby described the app as a one‑stop tool with bill payment, emergency notifications and filters for recreation (bike routes, trails, haulers and dump information). "I'm hoping that it's going to be done soon," he said.
Derby said he wrote a grant to bring FIFA watch parties to Milside Park and that events will include food trucks, local breweries, vendors and music; he said he is still reviewing the grant’s parameters and logistics. "We got it," he said of the grant win.
The mayor also proposed cultural programming to boost year‑round activity: a mural festival being shepherded by the East Hampton City Arts public arts subcommittee and a weekly outdoor concert series at the pond that E Media could stream.
Derby emphasized multimodal access and regional draw, saying attendees could use the Valley Share bike program and the bike path to reach Milside Park from nearby towns and reduce parking demand. He noted nearby communities such as Northampton, Greenfield and Pittsfield also received similar tourism grants.
