House Energy panel schedules oversight of digital accessibility, EDS budget and ERP timeline

Kathleen James, chair of the House Energy and Digital Infrastructure Committee, used the April 9 meeting to preview a series of upcoming oversight items on state digital infrastructure.
James said the committee will hear about the Universal Digital Accessibility Project beginning with federal guidelines from "Rick," followed by briefs from the Judiciary; Rebecca Kelly from the governor’s office; and Maggie Wilson, web services director at the Agency of Digital Services (ADS), to review how state websites are meeting accessibility guidelines. James said materials will be reposted for committee members in advance.
The committee also plans to revisit the EDS FY17 budget topic and a draft follow-up memo to Commissioner Grayson prepared by Lisa Gover; Gover will come next week to walk members through the memo. The Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) dashboard will be reviewed by Stacy from EDS, with the auditor’s report on the dashboard expected in the fall.
Members flagged an article in Vermont Public describing a change in the ERP (enterprise resource planning) project timeline. James said the committee has invited Sarah Clark, Secretary of the Agency of Administration, and Lisa Gover to brief members on the ERP timeline change and related implications.
James noted that a member of the public, Emily Ray, filed a public records request and raised concerns during House Appropriations that led committee members to add the accessibility review to their oversight schedule. The committee will take testimony and follow up as the scheduled briefings occur.
