The Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan School Board on Feb. 9 approved a two-year collective bargaining agreement with SEIU Local 284 covering bus drivers, chaperones and crossing guards.
Administration summarized the principal terms: an hourly step increase of $0.75 effective Jan. 1, 2026, and $0.90 effective July 1, 2026; a $0.10-per-step increase to longevity pay in year one only; district health-insurance contributions rising 15% in year one and 9% in year two; and earlier eligibility for the district’s matching 403(b) contribution, reduced from six years of service to three.
District negotiators said the agreement’s total cost falls within previously established board financial parameters and thanked bargaining teams for reaching agreement. The board moved, seconded and approved the contract by a 7–0 vote.
Administrators said they appreciated front-line transportation and school-support staff and noted the agreement had been ratified by the bargaining unit on Feb. 5, 2026.
