Reyes said the building now measures about 2,992 square feet after an approximately 1,300‑square‑foot addition, offers 33 customer seats and has required measures in place including security cameras, landscaping and code‑compliant restrooms.
Reyes summarized the public‑safety review of calls to service between November 2025 and February 2026: four incidents were logged that used the bar’s address as a point of reference, but staff told the commission that the majority did not result in criminal reports and that no police reports were generated. A public‑safety site inspection on Feb. 19 confirmed operational security cameras and a functioning security management plan.
Despite staff’s compliance findings, Reyes and other staff recommended an additional follow‑up because the initial three‑month period covered a slow holiday season; staff said a spring/summer review would better reflect typical activity when foot traffic and events increase.
Owner Alfredo Lopez addressed the commission and objected to the proposed extended monitoring. "I do. I feel it's excessive," Lopez said, adding that with only 33 chairs his capacity is limited and that the reviews are hampering his ability to grow business and host more entertainment. Lopez told commissioners he has received positive feedback from neighbors and that downtown public parking is available nearby.
Commissioners discussed parking options, noting some nearby lots are private and that any seat expansion would require review. The commission voted to receive and file the three‑month review (the staff file references conditional use permit number 9217) and scheduled a six‑month follow‑up review for June 3, 2026.
The action is administrative: staff will monitor operations and return with updated information after a period that better reflects busier months for nighttime entertainment and community events.
