Transit reconciliation
Council discussed a resolution documenting a financial reconciliation with River Valley Transit Authority (RVTA). Administration explained that RVTA paid certain expenses related to joint projects and that reimbursements routed through a city account had not been separated; as a result, the recorded amount owed to RVTA is roughly $1.6 million. Mayor Slaughter and staff said the capital projects fund contains the allocation for the payout and that parties agreed to a payment schedule. "We have the full amount of funding set aside," a staff member said on the record.
What council asked for
Councilmembers asked for clarifying information on several items, including the source and accounting for the RVTA funds, the percentage of total levee work covered by the current FEMA-backed package, and timelines for some temporary staffing contracts (zoning enforcement interim coverage). Staff committed to follow up with written clarifications and to return with additional details where requested.
Routine approvals such as the Williamsport Area Little League agreement for Brandon Park fields, the DCED community-technical assistance letter of understanding, and routine authority appointments were also approved without substantive objection.
