Tinley Park board approves $3.19M resurfacing contract, six-ambulance purchase and ratifies police contract

The Village of Tinley Park board unanimously approved a package of contracts and resolutions at its March 3, 2026 regular meeting, including a $3,192,785 contract for the 2026 pavement management resurfacing project and a multi-year purchase agreement for six ambulances.
Trustee (item sponsor) moved to adopt Resolution 2026-R20 to award the resurfacing contract to PT Ferrell Construction in the amount of $3,192,785, including change order number one and contingency for a 2027 carryover; the motion carried on a roll-call vote. Trustee Mahoney introduced Resolution 2026-R26 to approve a contract with North Central Emergency Vehicles for the purchase of six ambulances, described in the meeting record as amounts of $2,282,000 and $282,424 with staggered deliveries (two ambulances in February 2027, two in May 2028 and two in October 2028); the board approved the resolution unanimously. “This is a good step forward to generating some revenue out of our EMS services at least to help offset a lot of the costs,” Trustee Mahoney said.
The board also approved several routine and operating agreements: Resolution 2026-R018 to purchase an annual Microsoft Office 365 subscription through Consult Ad Inc. for $114,400; Resolution 2026-R25 authorizing a professional services agreement with Site Design Group Limited for lawn treatments and oversight services; and Resolution 2026-R27 contracting with True Green Limited Partnership for 2026 lawn treatments in the amount of $41,589. The board adopted Ordinance 2026-005 to correct the municipal liquor license list to reflect businesses that have closed.
On labor, the board adopted Resolution 2026-R013 approving a tentative collective bargaining agreement between the village and the Metropolitan Alliance of Police, Tinley Park Police Chapter 192, subject to final attorney review and ratification processes outlined in the agreement. Several trustees thanked the village’s outside counsel and staff for their work on the negotiation. “All necessary changes of the collective bargaining agreement have been made and reviewed by the village MAP attorneys and members,” the meeting record states; the resolution passed on a roll-call vote.
All motions and resolutions on the agenda were approved by recorded roll-call votes with no recorded dissent. The board did not modify the items on the consent agenda prior to approval.
Next steps: procurement and contract administrators will coordinate delivery schedules and contract implementation. No additional public hearings or votes on these same contracts were scheduled during the meeting.
