At its March 3 meeting the Prattville City Council adopted a consent agenda that included: multiple resolutions to declare properties nuisances and authorize abatement under Chapter 46 of the City of Prattville Code of Ordinances; surplus of personal property from wastewater and urban management; and other routine items. The consent agenda was created and adopted by unanimous vote.
On the regular agenda the council approved several budgeted purchases and resolutions:
- A 2026 Ford Transit camera van and related equipment for the wastewater department through cooperative contract SC06-24 from Alexi Q's Incorporated at a cost not to exceed $287,543.72 (budgeted in wastewater capital outlay).
- A budget amendment and authorization to hire a principal planner in the planning department at an estimated total cost not to exceed $76,200.86 for FY2026; the new principal planner will report to the planning director and HR was authorized to implement hiring.
- Walking-trail improvements at Miller Park: contract to Construction Services LLC at a cost not to exceed $65,870 (budgeted, public-works threshold under Alabama Code section 39-2-1 allowing projects under $100,000 to be let without bidding).
- Purchase of one DJI Matrix 30T combo drone for the police department from Unmanned Vehicle Technologies LLC not to exceed $15,157.12 (funded by drug proceeds reserves and police capital outlay).
- Authorization for the mayor to host an Alabama Bass Trail divisional tournament on June 13, 2026, at a host fee not to exceed $9,500 (parks and recreation budgeted expense).
Councilors cited public feedback in support of Miller Park improvements and emphasized the items were budgeted and routine; all listed resolutions and purchases passed unanimously.
