Clinton County commissioners voted March 3 to grant a three‑month extension on a condemned property sale in Helisburg to allow the buyer time to finish permitting, septic repairs and electrical work.
Liz Stitz, who introduced the item, told the board the buyer had obtained permits and was waiting on weather and health‑department scheduling to complete septic work. The buyer said framing is complete, cabinets were ordered and the electrical work should be inspected imminently.
Staff recommended three months because the project faces a short window of weather‑sensitive work and health‑department timing. The board noted that if work finishes earlier the buyer should notify staff for a final inspection so the condemnation order can be cleared before sale. The extension moves the deadline to the county’s first June meeting (June 2).
A commissioner moved to grant the extension; the motion passed unanimously.
