Prattville will not open Pratt Pool for 2026 season, mayor says

"Without risking further damage out of abundance of caution and the interests of public safety, we will not open the pool this season," the mayor said.
The pause will allow the city to conduct further evaluation and develop a long-term improvement plan. The mayor acknowledged the impact to families and senior citizens who use the pool during summer months and said the city is coordinating with the YMCA to explore alternate swim opportunities while assessments continue.
The mayor said staff will post updates, options and status information to the city website and social media as they become available. No construction contract or firm timeline for repairs was approved at the March 3 meeting.
