Board re-approves driver's education and ASA waivers after hearings; multiple consent votes passed

The Board of Education unanimously approved two waivers following the public hearings held earlier in the meeting. The driver's education waiver and the ASA waiver (waiver of newspaper publication of the annual statement of affairs) were re-heard because ISBE deemed the district's original submissions incomplete for a technical omission related to meeting time. Administration said both items had previously been approved by the board on Jan. 20 and recommended the board re-approve them; no public speakers addressed either hearing.
The Board voted by roll call to approve the driver's education waiver and, shortly after, to approve the ASA waiver. The meetings' roll-call votes showed unanimous "aye" tallies among the board members in attendance. The board also approved items on the consent agenda (8.01 and 8.02) and voted to approve Board of Education expenses related to travel and training in open session as required by policy.
Administration recommended not abating the 2025 debt service levy and noted that, absent abatement, the levy will remain on file with the county and no further board action is required. Board members indicated consensus not to place an abatement resolution on an upcoming agenda.
Vote details: driver's education waiver approved by roll call; ASA waiver approved by roll call; consent agenda and board expenses also approved by roll call. No dissenting votes were recorded in the public roll calls.
