During the public‑comment period, Jason Mocha, a resident and founder of Core Fiber Partners, asked to be placed on a future agenda to discuss a right‑of‑way agreement and a proposal to build fiber‑optic service to smaller communities. Ally Strapazon delivered a historical timeline urging recognition and continued work toward equity. Jessica Cole connected the two proclamations and highlighted recent Red Cross policy changes that broadened donation eligibility and boosted donations from community partnerships.
The proclamations carry no regulatory effect; they are ceremonial recognitions the mayor may issue at his discretion.
The council moved on to appointments and other business following the proclamations.
