Educational Services staff presented the midyear update on the district's Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) Tuesday, summarizing progress on five district goals, expenditures to date, and indicators of student progress.
Presenters highlighted several data points: an elementary formative diagnostic (iReady) showing roughly 36% of students at grade level (similar to the prior year's summative results), a math pass rate (math 2) holding at 79%, and increases in English learner reclassification (district noted reclassification rose substantially compared with last year). Staff said they have provided dozens of teacher-release days, increased site walkthroughs, expanded professional development and used Prop. 28 funds to grow arts offerings.
The LCAP update emphasized investments in multi-tiered systems of supports, wellness centers (now open at all secondary comprehensive high schools and middle schools), partnerships with community-based providers for behavioral supports and expanded learning opportunities including tutoring and after-school programs. The equity multiplier allocation was highlighted as targeted support for Mount Madonna High School to address red-indicator outcomes on the California dashboard.
District staff said midyear is a time to gather community input and refine actions for the coming LCAP revision cycle; trustees asked for further disaggregation by student subgroups and for follow-up reporting on metrics tied to interventions.
