The Lawrenceburg Advisory Planning Commission on March 4 elected its 2026 leadership and selected its representative to the Board of Zoning Appeals.
Commission members nominated and elected Mr. Snyder to serve as president, Derry Hutcherson as vice president and Tim Denning to remain secretary. The commission then nominated and approved Owen Cross to serve as the commission's seat on the Board of Zoning Appeals. Each leadership motion was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote during the organizational portion of the meeting.
Chair remarks emphasized the commission's intent to hold an organizational meeting each January going forward "to at least take care of the organizational vote," ensuring the selection process is routine and transparent. The vote to appoint a BZA representative was presented as a required selection by the plan commission and was accepted by Cross.
The commission also noted the absence of Planning and Zoning Administrator John Johnson, who was reported to be recovering from an illness. With no further business on leadership matters, the meeting proceeded to new business items.
