Monte Vista council adopts updated three-mile plan, signals intent to pursue enclave annexation

Monte Vista —5 March 5, 2026 —5 The Monte Vista City Council voted unanimously on March 5 to adopt an updated three-mile plan intended to guide future annexations and coordinate development with surrounding jurisdictions.

Planning and community development director Mr. Enderly told the council the updated map is larger and irregular because parcels that touch the three-mile boundary are included; his presentation noted the map now reflects parcel boundaries more precisely and meets state statutory intent. He said the updates remove a distant area previously shown as an —area of focus— because extending services there is cost-prohibitive.
