Eden Prairie council appoints commissioners and enters closed session for city manager review

The Eden Prairie City Council on March 3 approved a slate of appointments to city advisory commissions, named members and chairs for several boards, and voted to go into closed session to conduct the city manager’s annual performance review.

The mayor read appointment lists and the council moved and seconded approval of commissioners to the Flying Cloud Airport Advisory Commission, Heritage Preservation Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission, Planning Commission, Sustainability Commission and others; terms for those appointees were read as ending March 31, 2029. Council also appointed the local Board of Appeal and Equalization (Lyndon Buckquist, Nate Thompson, Steve Tessman, Mark Hoffman and Daniels Simonsson) for the period March 3–May 31, 2026.

The council then appointed chairs and vice chairs for multiple commissions (examples included Mark Mohawk as chair and Nick Rogers as vice chair for Flying Cloud Airport Advisory Commission, and Patrice Ericson as chair and Pedro Curry as vice chair for Parks and Recreation). Councilors expressed appreciation for volunteers and for resident expertise on commissions.

Before adjourning the public portion of the meeting, the council moved to enter a closed session under Minnesota Statute §13D.05, subd. 3(c) to conduct the city manager review; the motion was seconded and the council voted to move into closed session. The public meeting adjourned from the chamber and the council did not return for further public business that night.
