The commission approved two routine items and then voted to go into closed session for legal and personnel matters.
The commission voted to renew its contract with API Solutions, Inc., for services at the Roosevelt County Detention Center for fiscal years 2025–26; staff said the contract terms are unchanged from the prior agreement.
Commissioners also approved the Department of Finance and Administration Local Government Division DWI grant agreement (DG-23) for $160,000, which was presented as an award to accept. Both items passed by voice vote during the meeting.
Shortly thereafter the commission approved a motion to enter executive session under NMSA 1978 Section 10-15-1(H)(2) for attorney-client privileged discussions concerning pending litigation (several named plaintiffs versus Roosevelt County) and limited personnel matters related to finance, HR and the county manager. The commission then recessed into the closed session.
