County OKs contingent move to explore local fuel provider that promises diesel discounts

Randon Cam Knight, speaking for Portalis, said the company can provide card controls that record truck number, driver and mileage and can install cameras to support auditing. “We can discount fuel 20 cents on diesel, 10 cents on unleaded…Statements can be fully detailed for your records,” he said.
Commissioners asked procurement staff whether Portalis is on the state’s statewide price agreement—if so, county procurement rules might allow contracting without a new RFP. County staff (Carla) agreed to verify the vendor’s status; commissioners voted to proceed on a motion contingent on Portalis being on the statewide price list and offering pricing comparable to the county’s current WEX arrangement.
