Commissioners approved three routine agreements during the meeting: a multi-year renewal with Eastern New Mexico University for water-well use, the annual program agreement with the New Mexico Cooperative Extension Service, and a small tourism grant from the State of New Mexico.
Miss Williams presented the Eastern New Mexico University water-well use agreement as a five-year term with an additional five-year option (10 years total) and told the board "nothing's changed" in the contract text. The board moved, seconded and approved the renewal unanimously.
The board also approved the NMSU Cooperative Extension annual agreement; Miss Williams noted the amount decreased this year. Finally, the county received a Clean & Beautiful grant award through the State Tourism Department. The county applied for $33,000 but was awarded $3,600; the manager said the funds will go toward recycled benches and exterior trash receptacles rather than the turf the county had sought to replace.
All three motions carried without recorded opposition.
