The Cary Town Council on Sept. 11 voted to adopt an amended agenda that removed rezoning case 22, known as Austin Commons, after the project’s applicant asked for the item to be postponed.
Council members approved the amendment by voice vote; the motion carried unanimously. A council member said the applicant will work with town staff on a phasing condition that would prohibit construction of a proposed car wash unless it is included as part of other planned pods within the Austin Commons development. The council did not act on the rezoning itself; the case will return at a future meeting.
The removal was explained during the agenda adoption process and the council did not take further substantive action on Austin Commons before adjourning.
