Mount Clemens approves participation in state Redevelopment Ready Communities program

Commissioner Maner thanked city staff, noting the program provides no-cost technical assistance to help structure redevelopment plans and public participation.
Commissioners discussed how community and business input will be integrated. City staff said RRC identifies best practices related to public participation and that Mount Clemens will evaluate public-engagement processes as part of the certification work.
The motion passed by roll call; commissioners recorded votes in favor during the meeting.
City staff said additional steps and community outreach will follow as the city advances through the RRC checklist.
