Mount Clemens commission accepts compensation panel’s recommendation to raise mayor and commissioner pay

Staff said the compensation commission met Sept. 24, 2015 to review pay and considered that elected officials had not had an increase since 2001.
Commissioners discussed timing, noting the city has outstanding personnel and budget work. Some commissioners said the increase was modest and intended to help attract qualified candidates; one commissioner said she planned to donate her increase. The motion to approve the recommendation passed on roll call.
