Warrick County Council rescinds PTABOA appointment, appoints Lacy Pimpton and approves budget transfers

During assessor business, County Assessor Sarah Redmond told the council that state law requires a politically balanced five-member property tax assessment board of appeals (PTABOA) and that a January appointment left the board with four Republicans and one Democrat. The assessor said the board lacked members with required level-two or level-three certification and recommended action to restore balance.
The council read and approved a resolution (titled in the record) to address the statutory requirement and allowed staff to continue efforts to recruit a certified member. The council rescinded the January appointment and, on a subsequent motion, nominated and appointed Lacy Pimpton to the PTABOA seat.
Separately, county administrator Debbie Vin asked the council to approve additional appropriations and transfers to cover a liability-insurance shortfall. Council approved a transfer of $23,086 from the workman's-compensation line to liability insurance and approved several agenda-listed personnel and transfer items (items 7A–7F), including corrections-computer services and salary/retirement entries.
