Will County staff report Copperfield move complete, life-safety upgrades, and ongoing repairs

Facilities staff briefed the Will County Capital Improvements Committee on recent moves and maintenance work, saying office relocation to 1300 Copperfield is complete and the building’s fit-out appears finished, though a formal ribbon cutting is pending.
Ken, filling in for facilities, presented before the committee and shared photographs of the Copperfield build-out and recent in-house plumbing work (a new gate valve and piping) tied to water-softening units in the building’s basement. He reported that the department completed more than 500 work orders and logged over 400 hours of labor countywide during the month.
Ken also announced a life-safety update: the county has a new life-safety specialist, Aaron Kuzlowski, who is updating emergency plans for county buildings. Ken said AED stations will also include naloxone (Narcan) kits and that Aaron will run CPR/AED classes and Stop the Bleed training every other Tuesday. "If anyone's interested, feel free to reach out to Aaron," Ken said.
Member Trainer raised concerns about new seating in courthouse public areas, reporting that faux-vinyl upholstery is pulling at seams and that the furniture looks to be failing. Ken said facilities will perform a walkthrough, check warranty coverage, and follow up to repair or replace affected pieces.
The committee had no further questions for Ken and moved on to the AI-policy agenda item.
