Council members voiced support. Vice Mayor Rhodess noted a discrepancy in the state wildfire-hazard map and emphasized engaging CalFire and other stakeholders in mitigation work. Council member Mitchell said the grant "hits home" and praised the staff for pursuing the funding.
After a motion and second, the council approved acceptance of the grant. The record shows at least one member opposed prior votes on other agenda items; the DHS grant acceptance was carried by voice vote on the regular agenda.
