The Grants Pass City Council unanimously approved a resolution waiving park reservation fees totaling $277.50 for ParkWatch’s free community Easter egg hunt planned for April 4.
Parks staff said the fee total covers shelter reservation, group application and a refundable damage deposit; the applicant estimated about 500 attendees and said the event is free with no vendors. ParkWatch representatives said the nonprofit has limited funds and expects to raise roughly $3,800 for event costs through community donations; the waived fees will reduce their out‑of‑pocket expense.
Council members praised ParkWatch’s ongoing volunteer work maintaining parks and supported a waiver in this case. Council asked staff to coordinate any necessary park pre‑cleaning and logistics ahead of the event.
The resolution passed unanimously.
