City manager outlines fireworks, July 4 closures, summer meal sites and infrastructure update

The city also promoted Mount Clemens night at Jimmy John's Field on July 24 (gates 6 p.m., first pitch 7:05 p.m.) and provided a resident promo code for discounted grandstand tickets. Commissioners highlighted several community programs: free summer 'Meetup and Eat Up' meal sites at Mount Clemens High School, the YMCA, American Lutheran Church on Mberry Street and Washington Elementary (breakfast and lunch times were provided), and local partnerships that provided firefighter training and a $3,000 donation to the firefighters’ equipment fund.
Commissioners closed the reports by recognizing Lieutenant Charles Jir of the fire department on his retirement after 24 years of service.
