Monrovia Unified introduces new Santa Fe administrators and honors staff scholarship recipient

The Monrovia Unified School District Board of Education used part of its opening to introduce new Santa Fe Middle School administrators and to honor a staff member's scholarship.
Dr. Amber Green was introduced as the new principal at Santa Fe; she said she felt "incredibly honored to be serving as principal at Santa Fe" and praised the warm welcome from the community. Kristen Jelson was introduced as the assistant principal and spoke about working with families and staff to prepare students for high school and beyond.
Superintendent Dr Hart Rus announced that Lyanna Basera received the Los Angeles County Commission for Women's Resilience scholarship and praised Basera's work supporting families, mental-health outreach and community engagement; the superintendent had written Basera's recommendation. The board presented certificates and took photos with the students who led the pledge.
These recognitions concluded with applause and a reminder of upcoming school events and back-to-school nights.
