Separately, the commission discussed a petition to abandon an old section of Homestead Road in Liberty Township (Township 18, Range 20). A landowner constructed a reroute to county road standards to avoid driving through their buildings, submitted the required petition and paid the fee. County staff said the official abandonment still requires the formal abandonment process, including the resolution to be prepared for a future meeting.
A motion to accept the road viewers recommendation was moved and seconded and advanced with a voice vote; the board recorded that a formal resolution would be drafted and presented at the next meeting.
