The Wakulla County Board of County Commissioners unanimously adopted an amendment to the county's land development code to define "self-service vending business" and permit that use as a conditional use in the C2 zoning district.
Staff told the board the ordinance revises multiple sections of the Wakulla County Land Development Code to establish a clear definition and to allow self-service vending businesses to operate in C2 zones subject to the conditional-use process. "Staff is recommending option one for approval," the presenter said.
Commissioners had no further questions, moved to adopt the ordinance and approved it by voice vote. The ordinance will be processed per normal code-adoption steps and conditional-use applications will follow the county's planning and zoning procedures when submitted.
The change is intended to provide a regulatory path for businesses that operate vending or self-service retail models in certain commercial districts while preserving the county's conditional-use review safeguards.
