Staff told the board the property was found in violation of sections 8.042 and 8.043 of the Wakulla County Code in September 2020, and the property remained in violation until a recent change of ownership when the new owner brought it into compliance. The outstanding lien amount was described in staff remarks as approximately $191,000 before the recommended reduction.
The special magistrate recommended reducing the lien to the hard cost plus 20%, which staff calculated as $2,782.76, payable within 60 days of board approval. "The special magistrate considered the request for reduction and did recommend approval to reduce to the hard cost plus 20% in the amount of $2,782.76 to be payable within 60 days," staff said.
Commissioners moved and seconded the recommendation; the motion passed unanimously by voice vote.
The board's action finalizes the magistrate's recommendation and directs staff to record the reduced lien amount and collect payment according to the terms presented by staff.
