The Evanston City Council approved several appointments and reappointments to local boards and commissions by voice vote.
Mayor Ly put forward the names of Dan Wheeler for continued service on the Lodging Tax Board for a three-year term to end January 2026; Nathan Prit for the Urban Renewal Agency Board for a five-year term to end January 2028; Ben Bell as a new appointment to the County Economic Development Commission for a three-year term to end January 2026; and the reappointment of Dan Wheeler to that same Economic Development Commission for a term ending January 2026. A council member moved to approve the slate, a second was recorded, and the council voted in favor.
Council members thanked the appointees and noted these are often thankless but important volunteer roles that support local planning and economic development.
