County staff explained the delay stemmed from auditor adjustments that required reworking balances going back to the prior year. The auditor requested additional documentation (trial balances and a highway-fund general ledger) and staff said the auditor would provide a worklist of items to be re-reviewed or redone.
Board members asked where the $21,000 charge was paid from; staff said the expenditure was processed through treasurer automation and discussed budget coverage. Committee members requested clearer email distribution of reports and said staff turnover contributed to the delay; staff noted new personnel are taking on duties and will resume regular reporting as documents and bank statements arrive.
