Residents urge Memorial Park upgrades and long‑term fixes for Lima Street potholes

Lillian Maemone described 42 potholes on North Lima Street and said repeated low‑quality patching is worsening the roadway and causing damage to tires and alignments. Public Works staff told council that the northern section of North Lima is scheduled for water‑main replacement under a recently awarded contract and that street resurfacing will follow when the pipeline work is complete; staff said neighbors should expect a construction notice in advance.
Caroline Brown (Sierra Madre Mountain Conservancy) described the conservancy’s long history buying and protecting open space, noted past cooperation with the city on conservation easements and insurance arrangements, and invited staff and council to field trips to review conserved parcels as the general plan’s conservation element is updated.
Mayor and staff thanked the speakers and said staff will post notices, coordinate on scheduling, and return with budget and project details as needed.
