County to buy Doc Access and display full district emails to meet federal website standards

"It's going to be our cheapest way forward," John said, estimating the Doc Access add-on at about $16,000 this year and CivicPlus maintenance at roughly $13,000, for a combined website cost near $29,000 for the year.
Committee members raised a separate but related usability issue: external users attempting to email board members sometimes see only an 'email district' link that opens on devices with a native mail app but provides no visible address on others. Board members asked IT to display full district addresses (for example, district1@lasallecounty.gov) in addition to the current link so the public can copy an address when tapping does not open mail on their device.
IT staff described technical differences across phones and desktop clients — some devices route the link to Outlook or Gmail, others require the user to type the full address. The committee directed Amanda to send a notice to department heads and elected officials asking them to review their pages; staff said the change to display full addresses is straightforward and will be implemented.
The committee did not record a formal procurement vote during the meeting; staff said they would proceed with necessary purchase steps to meet the federal compliance date and coordinate with the auditor as required.
