County commissioner highlights $7 million Edwardsburg library, first new Cass County branch since 1978

"This is a $7 million, 5.4-acre facility," the commissioner said, noting the new building is roughly three times the size of the former library and includes dedicated children's spaces, a maker space, expanded parking, multiple community meeting rooms and a cafe. The commissioner said the project represents a significant investment in learning and community access for Edwardsburg and Cass County residents.
The speaker also reported that the village of Edwardsburg secured two grants and thanked local partners for their work on the project. Other commissioners used their district reports to remind residents about upcoming county services such as hazardous-waste drop-off and a data-center presentation scheduled for the month.
The report was given as part of routine commissioner district reports; no formal board action on the library project was recorded during the meeting.
