The presenters said the district will post the comprehensive plan for a 28‑day public comment period required by state guidance and asked the board to authorize posting next week. If posted, the board expects to consider approval at its March 17 meeting and to submit the approved plan to the state on March 18. The plan includes interim action steps, professional development supports, and appended required reports and assurances related to Chapter 4 and other state standards.
Board members asked clarifying questions about which benchmarks (state assessments versus local common benchmarks) will be used; Dr. Flemons said the district will identify appropriate common benchmarks by content and grade, and that communication about benchmarks is included in the plan’s action steps.
