Blue Earth was named in discussion as a potential collection partner. Members agreed to check the public works director’s status updates on that grant and to follow up with regional partners.
Educational and student engagement opportunities were discussed: a high school junior is pursuing certification under Connecticut Green Leaf and principal Russ Christ was reported as supportive; committee members offered to assist the student project and to connect with local Green Leaf contacts. Members also discussed using the upcoming public event and school communication channels to publicize waste-reduction resources and collection options.
