Public comment attendees opened the Nov. 25 meeting by celebrating the Knox County Nursing Home’s five‑star Medicare rating and invited board members to a Dec. 12 celebration.
During committee business the board approved invoices from MSI for nursing‑home performance documents and for documents related to a planned solar installation on the south side of the nursing home. The solar project was described as roughly 4–4.5 acres with the packet showing an invoice total of approximately $1,045,582.20; board members noted nursing‑home account balances and emphasized that referendum funds have not been used for operating expenses.
County officials said the nursing‑home management, staff and contractors will continue planning infrastructure replacements and the solar installation; the approved payments cover architectural/engineering and planning documents to move the projects forward.
Votes to approve both invoices were recorded by roll call.
