Alder Rust moved the resolution and council approved it 10–0. City Administrator Casey Bradley summarized an assessment by the Concord Group estimating about $495,857 to return the lighthouse to a maintainable condition and noted that ongoing maintenance costs remain uncertain until the structure is moved and reinstalled (planned pier work projected for 2029). The administrator said the city will pursue grant funding to reduce initial outlays.
Alder Close asked how maintenance and long-term costs will be addressed; staff responded that the Concord Group estimate is the best available preliminary figure and that the city expects a multi-year timeline before the full scope and recurring costs are known. The resolution directs staff to proceed with the purchase application and pursue funding options and grants.
The council’s action authorizes the next administrative steps but does not commit long-term operating funding; further budget or grant decisions will follow as the project develops.
