Fryberg said the work would include demolition and hauling off the house and trailer and cleaning the yard but would not include seeding or straw.
Commissioners moved and seconded the recommendation to accept the lowest quote and enter into an agreement, with payment drawn from landfill funds; the motion passed by roll call with all recorded members voting in favor (12–0, two absent). Miss Fryberg said the quotes had been secured and noted that two bids exceeded the formal bid threshold that would have required a different procurement procedure.
A member of the public asked whether volunteer groups could assist with cleanup; commissioners and staff said volunteers have helped on other properties but that because this property came through criminal court as a public nuisance the county would proceed unless a private purchase occurred. One community member said a local pastor had expressed interest in buying the property before cleanup.
