Missoula County approves consent agenda and fills several advisory seats

The Missoula County administrative board approved its consent agenda on March 3, moving items 1–12 forward while noting item 5 had been postponed.

The action included a motion to approve the consent agenda; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote, with no roll-call tallies recorded in the transcript. The chair first asked for public comment and, seeing none, proceeded to the consent vote.

Maddie Scott asked the board to appoint Katrina Shaw to the fair event committee seat vacated by Jim Sadler and said the board should acknowledge Sadler’s decades of volunteer service. The board moved to seat Katrina Shaw through September 2026 and approved the appointment by voice vote.

The board also approved reappointments and new appointments to the Open Land Citizen Advisory Committee, recommending reappointment of Sarah Holden and appointments of Nol Treat, Caroline Bird and Bradley Hall to active terms through Dec. 31, 2028 (one partial term runs through Dec. 31, 2027). Grace Sanford was appointed to the Aquatic Invasive Species District board for a term through Dec. 31, 2028. The board appointed Earl Rup to a Planning and Zoning Commission seat, noting his residence lies on the edge of a citizen-designated zoning district.

The chair and board members repeatedly used voice votes for these items; the transcript records the motions, seconds and ‘all in favor’ confirmations but does not include individual yes/no vote tallies. Item 5 of the agenda was explicitly postponed earlier in the meeting and will return to the board at a later date.

The board also noted scheduling matters including upcoming tax appeals and a Cely Lake Cemetery District item slated for Thursday, and said vacancies for community council member positions will be posted beginning April 1.

The meeting proceeded to other business after the appointments were finalized.
